It’s Girl Scout Cookie Time

Hi my name is Jac (not my real name of course) and I’m addicted to Girl Scout cookies.

That’s right, it’s Girl Scout cookie time.

Oh how I try to dodge them, I try not to look at them, I try not to think about them.

Somehow though the thought of them creeps into my mind, social media is filled with my friend’s kids selling them.

No, no, no, don’t approach me, turn around and walk away, go away, leave me alone!

I tell myself do not look, run as fast as I can. Here they come, with their cute little smiles saying please support our troop.

No no and no it cannot be I’m weakening. Don’t step any closer please. Oh I can see that red box, that green box I know what that means. Thin mints and tagalongs.

How can I say no? The resistance is too much. My will power is on low.

Ok! Ok! Ok I scream! Give me a box of each, expect for that gluten free one.

I brought them home, and told my hubby, “Here I bought you a box.” “What about the other 5?” He replies. I looked at him and said, “Touch them and you may just die.” That’s right babycakes, these are mine! Do not touch! “What about the kids?” he asked. I replied, “These are mine, you don’t tell and I won’t tell.”

He looked at me with a grin and said. “These are also mine then too, if you want me to keep your secret?” “Fine I will share, but not equally!” I said with despair. I opened a pack and counted out 3 for me and 1 for him until there was no more in the package.

I sit and nibble and I basically hide because I’m not sharing these delicious cookies that I’ve waited all year for.

It only took about a day or so and the sadness has crept in. I no longer have my cookies, to my surprise I snuck and ate them all. That goodness though hubby is at work, I ate his too, (It’s his fault if he didn’t hide them).

Oh the heavenly taste of caramel, peanut butter, chocolate and more, I cannot resist.  Where’s that Girl Scout now?  I need to  get my fix!

Please support your local troops and buy Girl Scout Cookies.

I don’t remember what they used to be called but they remind of German chocolate cake!

I’m a hoarder with GS cookies. I buy them and freeze most of them through the year and then eat the frozen ones in the months before they start selling again…this way I always have them available!

It seems that this is a common feeling among parents… the Girl Scout cookies are for PARENTS to eat— not the little ones :) (I just heard another parent express the same sentiment about not sharing THEIR Girl Scout cookies with their kid! The kids get Teddy Grahams! Hahaha!)
